Grab a picnic and join Barnsley Civic for a special Garden Gathering to launch their Autumn/Winter season and celebrate Our Freedom: Then and Now.

Featuring live music and entertainment, street performers, lawn games and creative crafts for all the family, this event will also see the unveiling of a brand-new series of banners specially commissioned by artist Cj Reay of Black Lodge Press as well as community artworks in response to the poem ‘Freedom Road’ by Simon Armitage.

Members of the Civic family – old and new! – are invited to join in a good old knees up to celebrate Barnsley’s rich legacy of mutual aid and collective action.
