Our Freedom: Then and Now is a community storytelling and art project funded by Arts Council England and led by Future Arts Centres. It invites people from all walks of life to share what freedom means to them. Inspired by the 80th anniversary of VE and VJ Day, the project explores personal and collective experiences of freedom from the past to the present day.
Stockport Libraries’ contribution to the project culminates on Saturday 15 November with an exhibition of all the collected stories, the launch of a breathtaking bottle top mural depicting flowers and animals that represent freedom created by Caitlin from Plastic Shed, and is topped off by a host of bottle top bees buzzing from the War Memorial to Bredbury Library.
There will be tea and cake and a warm welcome for all.
Fully accessible.
