Families were welcomed to Wolverhampton Arts Centre for a lively drop‑in day exploring what life in the city was like during the Second World War. Delivered in partnership with Gazebo Theatre in Education, RAF Midlands Museum and Learn Play, the event offered a hands‑on introduction to local wartime history.
Visitors could take part in a rolling programme of free activities, including period photography sessions, creative workshops and an interactive technology display that connected past and present. Exhibitions of wartime artefacts provided further insight into everyday experiences during the conflict, while a re‑creation of the British Restaurant that once operated from the Centre’s own school site offered a vivid glimpse into community life on the home front.
The day brought together learning, creativity and local heritage, giving families the chance to explore Wolverhampton’s wartime story in an accessible and engaging way.
