What does freedom mean to us today?
This year marks 80 years since VE Day, and across the country people are reflecting on freedom – past and present – through stories, creativity, and community.
In Deptford, a place rich with history, culture, and everyday acts of resilience, the Albany has been asking the same question. Shoulders of Giants is their local celebration: a joyful afternoon of creativity, performance, and play. Join them for circus workshops, music and activities that celebrate the people and moments that give us strength.
The afternoon will culminate in a one-off, specially created circus performance, blending music from the Meet Me Choir with breathtaking skills from the students of the National Centre for Circus Arts. Together, they will create something extraordinary – a celebration of balance, resilience, and community spirit.
