Chapter and Deaf Gwdihŵ have commissioned three deaf artists based in Wales – Maggie Hampton, Emily Rose Corby, and Alex Miller – to create new work in response to the theme of Our Freedom: Then and Now, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Using Wales’ history and unique cultural identity, the artists will explore what freedom means through the lens of deaf creativity and lived experience in Wales and beyond.
The artists will present their research and work at this talk at Deaf Gathering Cymru festival, Chapter. This will be followed by a poetry reading from Maggie Hampton.
This event will be recorded and available online shortly afterwards.
